Take part in our 40 for 40 challenge this Lent
2018 saw a record number of people come through the doors of food banks. The Trussell Trust distributed 1.4 million food parcels, half a million of these went to children. Food banks provide not just essential emergency food, emotional support and practical advice they also provide hope.
40 pence for 40 days
This Lent we’re asking people to join us in transforming lives by giving up 40 pence for 40 days. With the addition of Gift Aid this comes to £20. Small actions really can go a long way.
Alternatively, if want to challenge yourself to give something up this Lent, then why not donate the cost of what you save to Gravesham Foodbank?
At the end of Lent, bank the money you’ve raised and donate it below, online or send a cheque (made payable to the Gravesham Foodbank and write ‘Lent’ on the reverse) together with this Gift Aid Form to: Riverside Community Centre, Dickens Road, Gravesend, Kent, DA12 2JY
Adlent – Reverse advent calendar for Lent
During spring, many foodbanks struggle with low food stocks, yet the need for emergency food to support people in crisis remains.
You can help food stocks last well into the summer by taking part in Adlent, a great way to help over the period of Lent. Simply download the Adlent calendar and collect or donate one item of food for each of the forty days of Lent, starting on Ash Wednesday 06 March and finishing on Thursday 18 April.
You can take part as an individual, community group, at work or at school.
